Classroom Sessions

The field trip includes three classroom sessions presented by
Jon Gutmanis on the following subjects:

  1. Overview of fractured reservoirs:
    key issues and summary workflow

  2. Basics of structural geology
    and rock mechanics for fracture characterisation
    in the sub-surface

  3. Case histories
    dealing with characterisation and modelling of fractured carbonate reservoirs round the world

These sessions are held later in the day after returning from the outcrops and in an informal context so that group discussion and interaction is encouraged. Many companies request dedicated courses for their asset staff and bring their own field data and issues to these classroom sessions for discussion, which continues at the outcrop. You will find examples of Jon's slide material taken from the three sessions on this page shortly. All delegates take away a copy of the session slides on CD for future reference and study.
